Please read this very carefully. We would really like you to have a wonderful holiday at Killary and the list below will help to ensure you do.

The weather on the West Coast proves to be very unpredictable so for anyone doing activities be prepared for everything from hail to blazing sun no matter what time of the year!

Old warm clothing When on activities avoid wearing denim- tracksuits or fleece material is best. Some of the activities can be quite mucky so make sure they are old clothes.
Rain jacket & trousers

We have limited rain gear for rent. We strongly recommend you beg borrow or steal (not really!) some rain gear for your trip. It does not have to be expensive. Many shops sell plastic macs from as little as 10.00 Euro.

Woolly Hat 80% of heat loss is through your head so keep it covered.
Footwear Ideally if you have a pair of runners and walking boots it would be great. However runners will do just as well. If you have two pairs, one to keep dry and one to get wet it would be best.
Evening Time wear You will need a dry set of clothes to change into in the evening and yes another pair of shoes!
Warm woolly socks Not essential but a great luxury when your feet are cold.
Swimming togs We provide the wetsuits for your water activities. It is normal to wear a pair of togs under you wetsuit. If you have a nylon thermal top, you could wear it under your wetsuit also but not necessary.
Towels Towels are provided in the double and twin rooms but not in the dorm rooms. You cannot have too many towels with you on an activity Holiday.
Toiletries  There is limited toiletries sold onsite.
Pocket Money If you are on a school trip or summer camp there is a tuck shop onsite. For those over 18 they might want to bring pocket money for the bar!
Plastic bags Please Please Please bring plastic bags with you. By the end of your stay you may have quite a lot wet clothes you will not want to put into your luggage. We will give them out in reception but at a ridiculous price!
Small personal first aid kit We have of course our own First Aid station but we recommend bring your own relevant supplies. Please remember you are a 30 mins drive from the nearest chemist and that Connemara hasn’t quite reached the 24hour opening hours yet!

For children under 14 a list of all personal items they bring to the centre so they can check them off on departure.

Lost property to be returned where possible will be charged at €10 for large items (shoes) and €5 for other items (clothes)

Insect Repellent - to keep away the annoying midges during April – September. You will not have an enjoyable visit if you do not bring insect repellent!
