Rockclimbing is one of Europe’s fastest growing participant sports, and for good reason. Climbing rock is both mentally and physically challenging, and the sense of achievement, having topped out on a challenging climb is second to none.

Location - Galway and Mayo, have a range of climbing venues and rock types, from conveniently situated, single pitch roadside crags, dramatic sea cliffs to remote mountain crags of 1000ft or more. What’s more with a relatively small population Irelands crags are never overcrowded.

COURSE: Introduction to Climbing – ‘Getting Started’ - (2 Days)

This weekend gives you the chance to learn all of the basic climbing skills, with an aim to lay down a solid foundation and give a valuable insight to climbing. Under the direct supervision of our experienced and qualified instructors you will cover ropework, use and selection of equipment and most importantly to experience climbing on a range of Connemara rock climbs.

COURSE: Rockclimbing Skills – ‘Improving Skills’ - (2 Days)

Moving on from our Introduction to climbing, this course will cover skills to gear you towards becoming a self-sufficient climber. Using a variety of local venues, we will look at climbing systems, selection of Anchors, belay systems, movement skills and safety awareness.

Previous Experience – Completed Introduction to climbing course or similar or Have climbed before, with basic knowledge of rope work and belaying.

COURSE: Learn to Lead Climb – ‘Proficiency Training’ - (2 Days)

For those with experience of seconding rock climbs wanting to lead their first climb. This course will cover selection and placement of protection, ropework, route choice and safety awareness. This course will give you the necessary knowledge and confidence to move you into lead climbing.
