Location - All windsurfing courses held in Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only fjord. It’s a very safe sheltered area surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Introduction to Windsurfing
In recent years windsurfing has undergone a lot of changes, with huge improvements in board and sail designs and teaching techniques. Windsurfing is now a more accessible, progressive and appealing sport for all styles and tastes. All Killary’s equipment is from the 2005 range so you could not find a more up to date course.
Our training programme is split into three areas:
A) Get up and Go!
This allows you to master all the skills necessary to experience the thrill of windsurfing in as short as time as possible (one to two days). It covers the basic skills you need in order to feel confident on a board and really experience the buzz of windsurfing
B) Go 4 it.
There are many skills you can develop in order to enjoy windsurfing more, and to get the buzz of it all in stronger winds. These sessions allow you to develop your basic skills and introduce new ones to help you enjoy planning in stronger winds, counterbalancing in a harness and steering with your feet. You don’t need strong winds in order to learn any of these skills, as many of them can be practised in light winds and perfected when it is stronger.
C) Go! With Style
Providing an environment for developing skills for windsurfing in more challenging conditions. These master class clinics are held for competent windsurfers who are ready to push out their own boundaries in more challenging conditions of higher winds and waves.
